Professional Qualifications and Experience

Mr. Michael Alves’ Professional Qualifications and Experience: Mr. Alves received his Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England, in Keene, New Hampshire. He moved to Vermont in 2019, where he is a rostered mental health clinician. Mr. Alves has previously conducted therapy and psychological assessment in settings including community mental health, forensic mental health, family crisis, and neuropsychological assessment practices.

Ms. Gerda Lenselink’s Professional Qualifications and Experience: Ms. Lenselink received her degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. She moved to the USA in 1994 and is licensed to practice psychology in Vermont as a Licensed Psychologist-Masters. She was privileged to have worked at Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services as Area Manager of the Children’s Division and Clinical Supervisor in Springfield for many years before joining Twin State Psychological Services. Ms. Lenselink has extensive experience in providing assessment, psychotherapeutic and consultation services in schools and multiple healthcare settings. Ms. Lenselink is certified in EMDR treatment as well as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She provides psychotherapeutic and assessment services for children, adolescents and adults.

Ms. Christi Martin’s Professional Qualifications and Experience: Ms. Martin received her B.A. in Psychology from Clark University in Worcester, MA. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Ms. Martin is licensed in New Hampshire and Vermont as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She has extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior Psychotherapies with adults with PTSD and other Anxiety Disorders, Depression, and Personality Disorders.

Dr. Richard Root’s Professional Qualifications and Experience: Dr. Root received his Doctorate from Boston University. He is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and has training in Clinical Neuropsychology. He provides evaluation and consultation services to individuals, families, healthcare professionals, schools, community agencies and businesses, with a special interest in the assessment and treatment of psychological factors that can help to prevent, treat, or manage physical health problems. He is licensed to practice psychology in the States of Vermont and New Hampshire.
